1. Prodyne Fruit Infusion Flavor Pitcher

prodyne-fruit-infusion-flavor-pitcher

The Prodyne Fruit Infusion Flavor Pitcher is a solid all-around device available at a highly competitive price. Made from a clear BPA-free acrylic, the Prodyne Flavor Pitcher is safe, sturdy, and even stylish. The clear design displays the fruit inside, making for an eye-catching centerpiece for any table.

It is an insert-style pitcher, with one single compartment that screws into the lid. That allows you to continuously refill the pitcher without replacing the fruit in the middle.

The pitcher comes with just the one tube, rather than the several interchangeable options that some competitors feature. The compartment has open slots that allow for the water to continuously interact with the fruit, allowing for excellent infusion.

The Prodyne requires hand-washing but is relatively easy to clean. Simply remove the compartment, dispose of the fruit, and clean each piece gently with a sponge. The pitcher is 10.5 x 7.25 x 5.75 inches and holds up to 93 oz of water at a time.

Specs:

  • Material: BPA-free acrylic
  • Dimensions: 10.5 x 7.25 x 5.75 inches
  • Weight: 1.1 lbs
  • Capacity: 93 oz/2.9 quarts
  • Style: Insert
  • Number of inserts: One

Bottom Line: The Prodyne Pitcher is a budget-friendly device that isn’t as versatile as other options, but what it does, it does well.

Pros
  • BPA-free acrylic is sturdy in case of drops and completely safe to drink
  • Makes for a stylish display piece
  • Affordable price point
  • Easy to clean
Cons
  • Not machine-safe
  • Only one tube; doesn’t feature the versatility of some competitors.

2. Primula Beverage System

beverage-system-infusion-chill-core

The Primula Beverage System is a premium product that will cost you a premium price. Also made from BPA-free Tritan, you can rest assured knowing the Primula will be both study and stovetop safe. Meanwhile, the airtight silicone lid remains sealed until you press a button when you’re ready to pour. Each piece is dishwasher safe.

It also has the most inserts of any pitcher on our list with three. The first is the classic slotted fruit infusion insert. The second is a stainless steel tea press, which can handle both tea bags and loose tea. Finally, the Chill Core insert is a permanently-sealed ice pack that you can use to keep your drinks cold without getting watered down as the ice melts.

The inserts snap into the bottom of the lid and hold tight there. The pitcher won a Good Design Award for most innovative product design. The pitcher is average height but has a relatively large base; it should fit in most refrigerators but might not fit on a door. It is available in clear, red, black, and green.

Specs:

  • Material: BPA-free Tritan Plastic
  • Dimensions: 11.73 x 4.41 x 11.61 inches
  • Weight: 3.08 lbs
  • Capacity: 2.9 quarts/92 oz
  • Style: Insert
  • Number of inserts: Three

Bottom Line: The Primula Beverage System has an unbeatable array of features, but is more expensive than most alternatives and takes up a considerable amount of space.

  • Three different inserts allow you to create infused water, brew tea, or just keep beverages cold
  • Made with versatile and durable Tritan
  • Award-winning design
  • Multiple colors available
  • On the pricier side
  • Bulky design will take up a bit more space than competitors

3. Hiware Glass Pitcher

hiware-64-ounce-glass-pitcher

The only free-floating infusion pitcher on our list, the Hiware Glass Pitcher has several unique benefits. It’s made from Borosilicate Glass, which is stovetop safe. That means you can boil water directly in the pitcher, which is perfect for those who plan to regularly use their pitcher to make tea.

The pitcher can withstand temperatures up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit, and it is double-annealed for extra-durability. The glass is entirely lead-free, so there are no health concerns.

The Hiware Glass Pitcher does not feature a separate tube for fruit or tea. Users can simply place their fruit directly in the water. The pitcher’s filter keeps the fruit or tea safely in the filter and out of your cup. That allows for the most efficient infusion possible as there is nothing between the fruit and the water.

Also , this Pitcher is not an insert-style model, so naturally, it doesn’t have multiple types of interchangeable tubes. However, it’s still quite versatile. You can infuse water or spirits or even boil tea all in this pitcher without changing a thing. And the filter means no matter what’s in the pitcher, you’re only getting what you want in the cup.

The Hiware Glass Pitcher is on the small side at 9.2 x 5.5 x 3.5 inches. But it gets the most out of those measurements, as it holds up to 64 oz of water. While it can be trickier to clean as it doesn’t have an isolated compartment to hold the fruit, it is dishwasher safe.

Specs:

  • Material: Borosilicate Glass
  • Dimensions: 9.2 x 5.5 x 3.5 inches
  • Weight: 1.06 lbs
  • Capacity: 64 oz/2 quarts
  • Style: Free-floating

Bottom Line: The Hiware Glass Pitcher is a unique, insert-free option that performs well but is less durable and a bit trickier to clean.

Pros
  • Stovetop-safe to cook tea directly in the pitcher
  • Dishwasher-safe for a comprehensive cleanup
  • The compact design should fit in most refrigerators
Cons
  • While it is dishwasher-safe, it takes more effort to clean as there is no isolated compartment to hold fruit
  • While it is double-annealed for extra durability, it is still made from glass rather than plastic so durability can be a concern

4. MAMI WATA Fruit and Tea Infusion Water Pitcher

fruit-and-tea-infusion-water-pitcher

The Mami Wata Fruit and Tea Infusion Water Pitcher is an excellent option for shoppers looking for a balance between features and budget. It is made with BPA-free Tritan, which is more durable than glass but stovetop-safe, as opposed to standard acrylic plastic. You can boil hot tea directly in the pitcher, and feel confident that it won’t break if dropped.

Another insert-style pitcher, the compartment snaps into the pitcher. The spout is sealed shut until you press a button on the handle when you’re ready to pour.

The MAMI WATA comes with a standard fruit infusing compartment and a second compartment for brewing tea. The standard insert has spaces all the way up and down to allow for regular infusion. Meanwhile, the tea insert is made from stainless steel mesh.

While it does not have an ice insert, the product does come with a silicone ice ball maker. That’s a classy, versatile tool that you can use to cool your pitcher or even individual beverages. The MAMI WATA is a relatively large pitcher, but it has a compact base that should fit on most refrigerator doors (as long as it’s not too tall).

Specs:

  • Material: BPA-free Tritan plastic
  • Dimensions: 12.6 x 7.4 x 5.5 inches
  • Weight: 1.6 lbs
  • Capacity: 67 oz/2 quarts
  • Style: Insert
  • Number of inserts: Two

Bottom Line: The Mami Wata Fruit and Tea Infusion Water Pitcher is a solid all-around pitcher that delivers many of the features of more expensive models at a fraction of the price.

Pros
  • Two specialized inserts for water and tea
  • Tritan plastic is sturdy and stovetop safe
  • Relatively wallet-friendly for a multi-insert pitcher
Cons
  • On the bulkier side; should fit in most refrigerators but you’ll have to double-check to make sure it’s not too big for yours
  • Relatively small capacity despite large size

5. Chef’s Inspirations 3 Core Infusion Water Pitcher

chefs-inspirations-c-core

Another higher-end infusion pitcher, the Chef’s Inspiration 3 Core Infusion Water Pitcher is loaded with excellent features. It is also made with shatterproof BPA-free Tritan, ensuring long-lasting durability. The sealed non-spill lid comes with an ergonomic handle and a large easy-pour spout.

Another insert-style pitcher, you can screw the tubes into the top of the lid to ensure that everything stays exactly where it’s supposed to be. The standard fruit infusion insert has circle cutouts rather than the more common slots, but you can still rest assured that the water will maintain consistent contact with the fruit so your drink will get as infused as possible.

It also comes with a stainless steel tea insert, which can handle loose tea or bagged tea. It’s also safe to brew hot tea or iced tea in the pitcher. Finally, it also has an ice core insert. Simply store the insert in the freezer, screw it into the lid, and you can keep your drink cold without worrying about getting watered down.

Cleanup is a breeze as each piece of the pitcher is fully dishwasher safe. It is a very compact pitcher that should fit in every refrigerator.

Specs:

  • Material: BPA-free Tritan plastic
  • Dimensions: 10.7 x 4 x 10 inches
  • Weight: 1.3 lbs
  • Capacity: 96 oz/3 quarts
  • Style: Insert
  • Number of Inserts: Three

Bottom Line: A high-end pitcher that costs a high-end price, the Chef’s Inspirations Water Pitcher is more compact than the Primula, but doesn’t have the same reliable design.

Pros
  • Interchangeable inserts provide versatility as this pitcher can create infused fruit water, tea, and keep beverages cold with equal proficiency
  • Sturdy, safe Tritan plastic construction
  • Compact size should fit comfortably in any refrigerator
  • Dishwasher safe for easy cleanup
Cons
  • Less wallet-friendly than some alternatives
  • Some customers have said that the lid can leak

Pre-Purchase Considerations

Before you start shopping, you need to know what exactly you want. Here are some of the most important factors to keep in mind when looking for a fruit infused water pitcher.

Material

Some of you might be surprised to see this first on the list. But the material your fruit infusion pitcher is made from will have a significant impact not only on its durability but also on its performance and even your own safety.

Of course, you’ll want to start by looking for a pitcher that’s built to last. Over the long run (especially if you have children), someone is bound to drop it; you want a pitcher that can hit the ground without breaking.

But that’s not all. Many plastics are made with harmful chemicals that can seep into your water over time. If you go with a plastic pitcher, make sure that it is BPA-free and phthalate-free.

From there, it comes down to what you want out of your pitcher. If you’re just looking for cold beverages, getting a pitcher made from safe, durable materials are all you need to worry about. But if you want to have hot tea, you should consider targeting a pitcher that is stovetop safe.

Style

Next, you’ll need to choose a style. Most (but not all) infusion pitchers utilize a tube that gets inserted into the middle of the pitcher. The insert holds the fruit (or tea), and open holes facilitate the infusion, but the fruit never sits in the water directly.

Conversely, some infusion pitchers don’t have a separate compartment for the fruit—it goes straight into the water. Instead, these pitchers use a filter that prevents the fruit (or ice, or any other solid) from pouring out, so that you still only get infused water in your cup.

The latter style allows for more volume—without the cone, you get more water each time you fill the pitcher. There’s also nothing between the fruit and the water for more efficient infusion. However, it can be more difficult to clean, and some pulp may elude the filter and make its way into your drink.

Versatility

Some insert-style infusion pitchers may come with different, interchangeable tubes with specialized purposes. A common variety is a 3-in-1 pitcher. That will have one insert each for fruit, tea, and ice.

If all you want is fruit infused water, this versatility is an unnecessary expense. But if you’re interested in using your infusion pitcher to its fullest capabilities, the specialized compartments are a must-have.

Size

If you’re shopping online, this can be quite easy to overlook. Everything looks the same size in its Amazon photo, but some infusion pitchers can be much larger or smaller than others.

Before considering anything else, you need to make sure the pitcher will fit in your refrigerator. Once you’re confident of that, check the size to see how many servings you’ll be able to get out of a single fill. If you consistently entertain or have a large family, you’ll likely want to prioritize a larger pitcher.

The Final Verdict

Each of these fruit infusion pitchers is a quality product, and depending on your wants and needs, you can’t go wrong with any of them. But for our money, the best option is the Mami Wata Fruit and Tea Infusion Water Pitcher. It features two inserts—one for water and for one for tea—at a price point that is more typical of a single-insert pitcher.

Meanwhile, it is made out of BPA-free Tritan, a safe plastic that is shatterproof and can handle hot water, so you can brew tea directly in the pitcher. Most wallet-friendly infusion pitchers are made from acrylic plastic, which is neither heat-safe nor dishwasher-safe, or glass, which is far less durable.

The Mami Wata pitcher doesn’t include a third ice core insert, which some competitors do include. However, with your order you will get a silicone ice ball mold. While these will eventually water down your drinks in a way that an ice core wouldn’t, you can use them in regular glasses independent of the pitcher, which is an added perk.

While we believe the Mami Wata offers the best bang for your buck, each pitcher has its strengths. If you aren’t concerned about budget, you should consider the Primula Beverage System or the Chef’s Inspirations pitcher. If you don’t want an insert-style pitcher, you can’t do better than the Hiware. And if you’re not interested in making tea, and want a stylish display piece, go with the Prodyne.

No matter which of these products you choose, you’re sure to have an excellent new addition to your beverage repertoire.
